Is it possible to use photos freely in an educational context?

It definitely is and I have seen multiple projects related to school and university projects already on here. If you are thinking about redistribution of our images, please refer to the image licenses. They dictate what you are allowed to do with the images in which context.
Since our compilations are created by our users, they will decide which usage is acceptable to them and choose an appropriate license.
